Can you optimize a FareHarbor website without switching to FareHarbor Sites?

Yes. Your FareHarbor account and booking flow stay as they are. What changes is the website around them: how the booking step is embedded on each page, how the page is designed around the parts of FareHarbor you can't restyle, and whether your tour details are written as text Google and AI can read.

Where FareHarbor websites lose bookings

FareHarbor handles the booking. The page around it decides who gets there.

01

The booking step looks like a different site

FareHarbor's calendar colors and fonts can't be customized, and parts of the flow keep a standard FareHarbor look. If your page isn't designed around that, the handoff feels like leaving.

02

The wrong embed on the wrong page

Book buttons open FareHarbor's Lightframe as a popup. An embedded calendar keeps checkout inside your page. Most sites use one method everywhere, without testing which works better for each tour.

03

Prices AI can't see

When tour names and prices only appear inside the booking widget, ChatGPT and Google's AI have nothing on your page to quote. So they describe your tour from your Viator listing.

04

No idea where bookings come from

Without booking source tracking set up, you can't tell which pages and channels actually drive direct bookings.

What we change on your FareHarbor site

Your FareHarbor setup stays. The page around it gets better.

We work with the embed codes and settings FareHarbor already gives you, and only change what you approve.

FareHarbor website FAQ

Questions FareHarbor operators ask.

Can I customize the FareHarbor booking calendar?

Partly. Book buttons can be styled with FareHarbor's stylesheet, and you choose what the calendar shows. The calendar's own colors and fonts can't currently be changed, so we design your page around it. (FareHarbor's help center)

Do I need to switch to FareHarbor Sites?

No. We work on your existing website and leave your FareHarbor account as it is.

Should I switch booking systems to get away from FareHarbor's fees?

Not as a first step. Moving means re-entering every tour, retraining your team and reconnecting your OTA channels, usually right before a season. Often the bookings you're losing slip away on the page around FareHarbor, and we fix that without touching your account. If fees are still the problem afterwards, you'll be switching from a stronger position.

Why do guests see a higher price at checkout?

Depending on how your account is set up, FareHarbor can add a booking fee at checkout. If your page says £45 and the last step says more, some guests stop right there. We make sure the price on your page tells them what to expect, so checkout holds no surprises.

Should I use the Lightframe popup or an embedded calendar?

It depends on the tour and the page. Lightframe opens over your page from a button, while an embedded calendar keeps checkout inside the page. We test both on your key tours and keep what converts better.

Why does ChatGPT describe my tour from Viator?

Usually because your tour details only appear inside the FareHarbor widget, while your Viator listing has them as plain text. Putting them on your own page gives AI a reason to cite you.

Which website builders do you work with?

Almost any: WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix, Shopify or a custom-built site. If it can show your FareHarbor booking widget, we can work on it. Some builders limit custom code, so your free snapshot tells you upfront what's possible on yours.
